GOVERNOR GODWIN OBASEKI, CELEBRATE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY WITH EDO STATE WOMEN.




Governor Godwin Obaseki, today 8 March 2022 celebrated international women day with Edo State women at Festival Hall, Government House in Benin City Edo State, he advised the women to be upright and courageous in their various occupation. Said he is in support of women to be fully involved in Nigeria politics, that women are very intelligent and creative in nature as such they should be given opportunity to be at fronts seat in Nigeria government, from state to federal. Furthermore he advice women to ensure they all participate in the forthcoming general election, said women are needed in State House of Assembly and National Assembly. While he disagree with the National Assembly for throwing out the bill which supposed to gives women the opportunity to be fully involved in politics that he was so much disappointed in their actions against women, said women should to protest against Nigeria National Assembly and he is ever ready to support and lead them for the protest. He said he gives women no less 30% chances to participate in his government and most women in his government have proven to the world that they can do better if given the opportunity compared to men. He said let's encourage our women and girls child as they are not met for kitchen alone as view by the general society.


Mrs, Besty Obaseki, who was represented by Mrs, Mariam Shaibu, spoke though against the act of Nigeria National Assembly for rejecting the bill which supposed to give women equal opportunity to be fully involved in politics, said no woman should vote any current seating Senator who caused a set back to Nigeria women in few days ago, said the time has come for every woman to stand up and fight for their future as they can't continue to sit at the back seat. She advised every woman to always support themselves mostly in politics. She also advised women to shunned hatred against themselves and that they are battle ready to lead protest against Nigeria National Assembly.


Hon. (Mrs) Maria Omozele Edeko, Commissioner for Social Development and Gender. Advised women to be self confidence, creative, and they should not be a liability to their husband. Said women should be determined to be the best in their various fields work. Said we women world as such they should the opportunity to prove to the world that they can do better in every angle. 


Hon. Lady Uwa Osunbor, Special Adviser On Political matters to the Governor, Edo South and an Entrepreneur in the Agricultural Sector, Edo State. Who analyzed on how she became successful in Agricultural produce today in Edo State and Nigeria at large. She advised women to always be courageous and determined to face challenges in life that is what has been keeping her going in every business she found herself. Said determination is the only way that brings positive results. She told women to be creative and be self productive, advising them not to be liability to any man. Said beginning of every business is always rough and never you discourage along the lines and don't give up.


Mrs. Elizabeth Iyamu Ojo, Lecturer, Faculty of Law, University of Benin (UNIBEN) Encouraged parents not be discriminating their girl child, that they should give equal rights to their children, is stated specifically in section 42 of Nigeria constitution that all children should be treated equally without discrimination, said if every child is been treated equally that girl child always come out best in terms of education and every other area. She also advised the government to enact law that would jail men who is in the habit of defining little girls child. Said women should be supportive to themselves and stop discrimination against themselves.


Mrs. Isememe Whyte, MD, Genuis Hub, Social Impact Entrepreneurs and Human right Advocate. She analysis on how she became a multimillion event and business woman as at today. She advised parents on how children should be train up without discrimination, said every woman should believe in their selves and have self esteem. She advised women on how to carryout social marketing on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, you Tube and Instagram, said women should be proud of their job and avoid being idol. Said and idol mind is an evil work shop.
