*IN CONTINUATION OF STAKEHOLDERS ENGAGEMENT MEETING ON BENIN MASTER PLAN, EDO STATE GOVERNMENT WERE TODAY IN OREDO /EGOR LOCAL GOVERNMENTS*

Today 11th of February 2022, the Entourage which was  ably led by Hon. Mrs Isoken Omo (Commissioner for Ministry of Physical Planning, Urban and Regional Development) who represented the Governor, told the people the importance of seeking an approval before nailing down a foundation of a building, that any house built without the Edo State Government approval, that the state government deserved the right to demolish the structure, mostly those houses built in unapproved environment or Government reserves lands.

She further advised and caution Edo Son's and daughters who are in diaspora to always ensure that they seek government approval before going ahead with any establishment by locating the town planning office in ensuring proper documentation of the establishment and also to have adequate knowledge of unapproved environment.

She also informed the people on how Governor Godwin Obaseki Government propose to turn Edo State to Mega City in no distance time as promised before, during Edo 2020 Governorship election by bringing the people close to the government, also She told the people that Edo government have initiated Benin Master plan and Urban Renewal, on different categories. 

The Benin Master plan includes Education, Health care facilities, Industrial, Housing, Technology, Agricultural development and other social amenities, that make Edo State to be conducive environment for investors, while the Urban Renewal includes the renovation of all government facilities and infrastructural that have been dilapidated over the years. 

She also stressed that, the aim of this government of Governor Godwin Obaseki, is to turn all rural communities to a better place for an investors to come in from different part of the world and further advice people to always ensure they documents every land they sold in their various communities and also caution them to mind the way they are selling land to those Estates agents, with the aim of developing the land, hence most of those developers are fraudsters as they are not dueling registered with the government.

She further notify the public that any house demolished by state government the property owners will still be charged for payment of demolishing the building and packing of the dirty after the demolition and wasting of government time. 

She also tasks every ward to hold and report whatever their demands to the SAs and SSA, for better representation, hence the Governor may not be aware of whatever is lacking those areas. She further breakdown the plan on various categories which are as follows :

 (1)Quick win plans,  (2)Short term plans, 

(3) Medium plans and

(4)Long term plans. 

Hon, Monday Osaigbovo ( Commissioner for Local government and Chieftancy) Appreciate and commend all the acting Council Chairmen for their excellent performance so far, said the state government has make tremendous progress ever since they all assumed the office of head of Administration in the entire eighteen Local government, that they should continue their good job ahead without being distracted.

He Advised the people the need for everyone to cooperate and work hands in hands with the state government, that Governor Godwin Obaseki, government is ever ready to deliver all promises made before, during and after electioneering campaign period, by ensuring every Local government benefit dividends of democracy from this current administration and the Government of Governor Godwin Obaseki to ensure they leave good legacy behind before the end of his administration in which the future generations will have much good to say about this current government. 

He encouraged all the Chiefs to continue talking with youths for strong cooperation with the government, he also stressed that the governor always ensure that the chiefs benefits what rightly belongs to them.

Lady Uwa Osunbor (Special Adviser on Political matters, Edo South) Inform the people how Governor Godwin Obaseki plan to run positive and inclusive government in all eighteen Local government, that it’s was the reason the Governor appointed no less than two SAs in all the 192 wards in Edo State. She further admonished all the SAs and SSA the need for them to represent their various ward and Local government as designated, so that their various communities or Local Government will not be left behind in terms of development. She told the people to note that every SAs and SSA are all appointed to represent their people with humility, and to bring back reports to Governor from time to time, since the Governor can not be every where. She also asked the people to report any SAs and SSA who failed to carry out his or her responsibility. She said all SAs and SSA to put into writing whatever the needs of their various communities or wards, to ensure the plan of Government is being achieve as planned before the end of this administration.
