FOREWORD

I am delighted to write the foreword to this interesting prayer book, The Full Armour. “Armour” is a defensive covering to protect the one who wears it from injury or death. However, when the defensive covering is only on the physical level, it leaves the individual still vulnerable to attacks from invisible forces. The Full Armour provides us with what we require to be fully protected from the machinations and attacks of both physical and metaphysical forces. What the author has done in this book is to open to us the secrets of effective prayer life. It teaches us how to engage ourselves in comprehensive prayers. Prayers contained in this book would be of invaluable benefit to all those who have been at a loss as to how to pray well.

The Full Armour is what every Christian is advised to put on in Ephesians 6:10-13: “Finally, grow strong in the lord with the strength of his power. Put God’s amour on so as to be able to resist the devil’s tactics. For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against Sovereignties and the powers who originate the darkness in this world, the spiritual army of evil in the heavens”.

The Bible which is the infallible word of God should be a resource book for every Christian. But there are some Christians who do not know how to pray Bible-based prayers. Christians in this category would find this book very useful because all the prayers contained are Bible-based.

Prayer is conversation with God. There are various forms of prayers: penitential, thanksgiving, petition and propitiation. The author gives prominent position to the prayer of propitiation and penitence in which we have to first of all confess our sins before we engage ourselves in other forms of prayers. In Romans 3:23 it is clearly stated that all of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory, and only the grace of God can justify us. This is why it is important for Christians to pray for forgiveness before embarking on any type of prayer.

This book is divided into eight chapters. Chapter One contains various prayers for various occasions with testimonies of those who succeeded in overcoming their various predicaments when they used these prayers. Here, we have co-operative prayers, introductory prayers, prayers for nullifying bad Dreams, for Life-partner, Children, Job, Admission, Success in Examinations, finding lost things, against evil spirits, Accommodation, intercession, safe-journey, Success in Business, and others.

Chapter Two is a discussion on the meaning, method, relevance and the practical effects of Fasting in the lives of Christians. Fasting is keeping away from food and drink in order to attain spiritual growth. Various passages from the Scriptures and some personal testimonies are cited to underscore the importance of fasting in the lives of Christians.

Chapter Three deals with Meditation which means reflecting on the providence and the almightiness of God who cares for us. It is a kind of mental prayer. In order that this type of prayer be effective in the life of a Christian, he/she must have a pure conscience. Bible passages and personal testimonies are again used by the author to stress the importance of meditation in the lives of Christians.

In Chapter Four, Solitary Mid-night is recommended as the most suitable time to communicate with God on individual and very personal level. Taking a cue from Mark 14:32-41, the author believes that this type of prayer purifies one from all evil influences thus making way for achieving whatever petitions one put before God. For him, the prayers appropriate at this time are the Rosary and Meditation.

It is true that life is full of problems, challenges and suffering. Not many of us would really want to be associated with these. But it is through the cross that Christ got his own glory. We must therefore carry our own crosses and follow in the footsteps of Christ. The author in Chapter Five, tells us more about this, and like St. Augustine, he explains that God uses these moments to make something good happen in our lives. As usual he uses examples both from the Bible and personal testimonies to buttress this.

Wicked acts are caused by wicked people and their agents. People can become afflicted with these wicked acts in various ways. This can be through satanic possessions and attacks, dreams and charms. Chapter Six of this book provides ways and means by which these attacks are not only rebuffed but overcome. In order to overcome these evil situations, a Christian must live upright and righteous life.

Chapter Seven titled “Random Reflections” is very rich in the sense that these are experiences that can enrich our spiritual life-experiences. These reflections are actually random thoughts on how we can succeed in battling the evil forces that confront us in life, bearing in mind that God’s ways are not our ways.

Chapter Eight which is the concluding chapter insists that we must endeavour to pray, fast and meditate three times a day. This is the recommended formula which the author and I, believe will go a long way to solving our various spiritual problems. We must pray with penitent, pure and loving hearts. This is the key to effective prayers.

I recommend this Book to all Christians. I assure you that you will not be disappointed, because this book will help you to pray effectively.

INTRODUCTION

This book is an improvement on my earlier book titled “Pray, Fast and Meditate”. The former name could not suffice because of the additional topics to it, and I do not want a situation where people want to make reference to it and they cannot find it, that is why I have decided to combine the former topics and the new ones together to form THE FULL ARMOUR.

I thank God that He has made me to come into this world, and to appreciate that this world is a battle field, fighting against known and unknown enemies. The most pathetic thing is that the highest proportion of ones enemies are made up of one’s beloved ones.

When you see yourself been confronted regularly with unexpected and incomprehensible problems and difficulties in life. You should know that you are likely to have been marked by the evil ones, who are mostly members of your household or best friends, and when members of their Cohort see you, they start torment you.

Today, I am unfolding to you the armour that the Good God gave to me which has guaranteed me success so far, even though the battle is not over, I believe with master Jesus on my side, victory is certain. But I am sure that the devil will regret for having touched me, as different from other men of God, due to the fact that most men of God concealed their armour of victory to themselves, while I am revealing mine to the world, maybe because the devil prevented me from propagating the word of God as a priest, by sending sickness to me in the seminary, now, I am propagating the word of God as a Layman. So I am still achieving my mission on earth to the glory of God. So permit me to quote 1Coreinthians 9:16 “Not that I do boast of preaching the gospel, since it is a duty which has been laid on me, I should be punished if I did not preach it.
