INEC MUST REDEEM ITS BATTERED IMAGE WITH EDO ELECTION




The immediate past member of PDP South South Executive Committee, and PDP Edo State Media and Publicity sub committee, Prince (Dr) Francis Omo-Osunde Iyasere has called on INEC to redeem itself from its battered image with the Edo State governorship election coming up on 19th September 2020. He noted that given the way Kogi State governorship election was conducted by INEC, the people have no confidence in the sincerity of the present management of INEC to give Nigerians a credible, free and free elections.


Prince Iyasere advise the leadership of INEC to be above board in the conduct of this election in order not to be sanctioned by the people of this great Country and international democratic institutions adding that world is watching.


He called on the self-acclaimed leader of the democratic freedom fighters, Ahmed Tinubu to concentrate on the siphoning of the common-wealth of Lagos State and to leave the people of Edo State to choose their leader in the person of Godwin Obaseki. Prince Iyasere called on the security agencies particularly the Nigerian Police to ensure that it remains apolitical and it royalty must be to the people of Nigeria and not the ruling party. He urged the Military high-command to strictly adhere to the rule of engagement as their duty is not to supervise election but to provide security. He called on Edo people to reciprocate hardwork of Governor Obaseki with their votes in order for him to give quality leadership with human face

It was a historic moment today at Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State as the campaign train of the People's Democratic Party concluded its campaign tour in Edo Central.  The journey which commenced with a visit to the Palace of the Onojie of Irrua, HRH W.O. Momodu, the Okaijesan of Esan land, saw the King's spokesman reeling out the series of people-oriented projects executed by the Governor Obaseki's administration in Irrua Kingdom. The Palace of Okaijesan thanked the Governor for the reclamation of the gully occasioned by erosion in Ibore, construction of Idumabokhale road, construction of Eigbe road, establishment of Technical College at Usugbenu and the setting up of mechanized Farm at Usugbenu amongst several others.
