EDO 2020 : THE COORDINATOR OF EDO PDP GOVERNORSHIP CAMPAIGN IN AUSTRALIA MR. JOHN OSIFO COMMENDS HIS ROYAL MAJESTY EWUARE II FOR HIS FATHERLY ROLE AHEAD EDO STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION.

THE Coordinator of Edo PDP Governorship Campaign in Australia, Mr John Osifo has CommendS His Royal Majesty, Ewuare ll, the Oba of Benin kingdom for his fatherly involvement in his decision to invite the two major contestants in the race to Osadebay Avenue  come September, 19th 2020.

He spoke while reacting to the spate of violence being reported from Edo State ahead of the Governorship election. Mr Osifo opined that no Edo person's blood should be allowed to get spined on the altar of winning election adding that the revered Oba's invitation must be seen as a right step in the right direction.

The Australian PDP Coordinator for Obaseki's reelection observed that the security agencies particularly, the Nigerian Police, Directorate of State Security(DSS) must live up to its responsibility to provide adequate security to every Edo State voter and non-voter alike to be part of the exercise in a peaceful and stress-free environment.

He is of the view that gone are the days when the use of thugs were the most popular way of winning elections stressing out that the most potent method was to focus on issue-based electioneering campaign. He equally supported the position of the Oba of Benin, that a single term of Six years could be a panacea for curbing violence in an election in Nigeria.

Mr Osifo urged Edo people to be wise in their choice of whom to give mandate to, for the next four years.

He however advise voters to see this election as a contest between a good and performing governor and godfatherism coupled with agberoism. He is worried about the statement coming from INEC in which the Commission is saying that the signal coming from Edo State is scary, advising that the Commission should not hing its proposed postponement of the election on this seeming unverifiable reason being frontally canvassed by the APC.

He called on INEC to utilize the police, and indeed all the law enforcement agencies to get the needed environment to conduct a free, transparent and credible election stressing that there can only be violence when the election is not free, fair, transparent and credible.
