Today marks a defining moment in our political history as a state and by extension as a country. Our story is one of courage in the midst of contrived crisis and ultimate triumph over retrogressive forces that are determined to hijack our state for their selfish endeavours.
I salute the PDP and all Edo people at home and abroad as well as our friends in other states for standing by the belief that a better Edo State is possible if we allow the people, not an overbearing godfather to lead. I implore you to keep the faith as there is more work ahead.
As children of God, we will be magnanimous in victory, but we will not forget where the rains beat us and where we were provided with shelter.
