The Edo State High Court sitting in Benin has granted an order for the Edo State Government to apply for an Order of Mandamus compelling the Nigeria Police Force to investigate 18 individuals, including the 14 lawmakers whose seats have been declared vacant, the retired deputy clerk of Edo State House of Assembly, who purportedly presided over their inauguration and other conspirators. The Edo State Governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on Wednesday, inspected eight gun boats, marine police post and accommodation for security personnel, among other projects executed by the state government to check criminality and insecurity in the riverine community of Gelegele and environs, in Ovia North East Local Government Area of the state. Edo State Governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has said that the sacked national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, deceived the 12 members-elect of the state’s Assembly who refused to present themselves for inauguration and two others whose seats were declared vacant, denying their constituents representation.
