Defection Tsunami Hits Akoko-Edo APC ...as 19 party LG exco members, followers join PDP

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State has suffered a political tsunami as the party's Local Government Chairman, Hon. Frank Adeyemi and his Vice, Abiaku Samuel, led other executive council members, to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The Edo State Government has commiserated with the family of DSP Michael Adams, who lost his life during a successful rescue operation of some of the victims of a kidnap incident at Igueben Local Government Area of the state. The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, who led other top government functionaries and security officers to the home of late DSP Adams on Airport Road, Benin City, condoled with the family and expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident. He noted that the late DSP Adams was a gallant officer, whose exploits are worthy of commendations and emulation. “All the heads of security agencies are here. We are grieving. 17-year-old arrested for allegedly impregnating 10 ladies in Rivers

The Rivers Police Command has arrested a 17-year-old boy for allegedly impregnating 10 ladies. The suspect, Noble Uzuchi, was nabbed with his accomplice, Chigozie Ogbonna, 29. According to the authorities, the two suspects and two other ladies, Favour Bright and Peace Alikoi, were allegedly running a baby factory.  Rivers Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Grace Iringe-Koko, said the arrests were carried out following a tipoff. In a statement, Iringe-Koko stated the four suspects operated in the Obio/Akpor and Ikwerre local government areas of the state before their arrest. Ex-VC, Bursar Arraigned for N1bn Fraud

Professor Ibrahim Garba, and Ibrahim Shehu Usman, former Vice Chancellor and Bursar respectively of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria were today arraigned before Justice A.A Bello of the Kaduna State High Court on an eight count charge bordering on theft and money laundering to the tune of over N1billion by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The arraignment followed months of discreet investigation triggered by a petition accusing the duo of diverting monies meant for the renovation of the popular Kongo Conference Hotel, Zaria.  The investigation established that  over one billion Naira was allegedly stolen from different accounts of the institution by the defendants and diverted into their private accounts.

Man smoking with baby in viral video declared wanted

By Alao Abiodun  An unidentified man smoking and giving same to a baby in a viral video has been declared wanted by the Lagos State government and police. In the video, the man, who held the baby in his arms, pushed the substance into the baby’s mouth intermittently after grabbing a puff. A female was heard in the background laughing as the man carried on with the act. The now-viral video has continued to generate widespread outrage on social media platforms. Many condemned the action and called on relevant government agencies to ensure the man is brought to book. Meanwhile, the Lagos Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Agency (DSVRA) has called on anyone with useful information about the man to contact the commission.
