Ahead of Saturday ward congresses of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state, the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, in the State has called on the leadership of the various factions of the party to rein in the remnants of their support to ensure a crisis-free exercise.  It is on record that all the Congresses organized by APC to date have been characterized by thuggery, blood shed and deaths as it is their regular trademark! A United States court has issued a warrant of arrest for a Deputy Commissioner of Police in Nigeria, Abba Kyari. According to a court document obtained by Peoples Gazette, Otis Wright of the United States District Court for the Central District of California ordered the Federal Bureau of Investigation to track down Kyari and produce him in the United States for his role in a multi-million dollar fraud perpetrated by Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi; and his co-conspirators.The PUNCH had earlier reported that the court said Hushpuppi used Kyari to arrest and jail a co-conspirator, Chibuzo Vincent, after the latter threatened to expose a $1m fraud committed against a Qatari businessman. A pilot with the Nigerian Airforce, Flight Lieutenant Abayomi Dairo, has been rescued after intense gunfire by armed bandits grounded a Nigerian Airforce Alpha Jet aircraft in Zamfara State. The Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore, Edward Gabkwet, who confirmed the crash in a statement on Monday, said Dairo was returning from a successful air interdiction mission between the boundaries of Zamfara and Kaduna states when the aircraft came under attack and crashed. He stated that Dairo escaped when he ejected from the aircraft before it crashed, adding that when he landed, the armed bandits gave him a hot chase. Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has urged Nigerians to turn out en-masse and register with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during its nationwide online electronic registration of members which will commence in a fortnight. Four suspected and hardened kidnappers have been shot dead by men of the Inspector General of Police Response Team ( IRT) and the Anti Kidnapping Squad of the Edo state police command. The suspects were taken down on their way to kidnap an expatriate working in Edo state. *According to reports, the four deceased suspects, Osaosemwen Osifo, David Ogba, Efosa Friday and Nelson Uchiko, were earlier arrested in 2015 for alleged kidnapping.* They were charged to court and remanded in Oko correctional centre (Prison) in Benin city.  But Osaosemwen, popularly called “K2”, the gang leader, was sàid to engage in various armed robbery operations in Benin city and environs.
